Eligibility Criteria : NTA UGC NET 2023
To be eligible for the UGC NET December 2023 session, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- They must have a Master’s degree in a relevant subject from a recognized university.
- Their percentage of marks in the Master’s degree must be at least 55% for General and OBC candidates, and 50% for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
- They must have cleared the UGC NET examination in the same subject in which they have completed their Master’s degree.

For JRF: Not more than 30 years as on 1st day of the month in which the examination is concluded i.e. 01.12.2023.
For Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit in applying for UGC-NET for Assistant Professor.

Salary Pay
Assistant Professor
The salary of an Assistant Professor under the UGC NET December 2023 will be in the pay band of Rs. 15,600 to Rs. 39,100 with an Academic Grade Pay (AGP) of Rs. 6,000. The total salary will be in the range of Rs. 22,200 to Rs. 45,700 per month.
Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
The stipend of a JRF under the UGC NET December 2023 will be Rs. 31,000 per month for the first two years and Rs. 35,000 per month for the next three years.
In addition to the basic salary and stipend, candidates who qualify for the UGC NET December 2023 will also be eligible for various allowances and perks, such as:
